Registration will be held in Withey Student Center. Stop by during these times to check
in and receive your registration packet.


For a list of accommodations, click here. Secure your reservations now since Vermont is a popular destination during foliage season. For those who want to camp, free tent space is available on the southwest side of campus. You’ll have access to nearby bathrooms.


The Alumni Tent, located adjacent to GMC’s Cerrwiden Farm, is available for relaxation and casual gathering. Please stop by the Richardson Hall Alumni Room to grab a complimentary soft drink or cup of Vermont apple cider. While there, take in the ambiance of your designated space on campus and look through yearbooks, the College history books—in loco parentis and This Green Place, and other photographs and publications from Green Mountain’s 181-year history. We’ll also have a display of Class of 1965 photographs and residence hall photographs.


Friday, September 25

Residence Hall Reunions

3:00pm– 5:00pm | Departing from Withey Student Center
Revisit the place you called home while you were a student, and encourage everyone who lived on your floor to return with you. This is your opportunity to gather in the hall’s lobby to swap your favorite stories with current students. Our student ambassadors will walk you through the public areas and showcase a student’s room. And sometime during the weekend, be sure to visit the Richardson Hall Alumni Room to see a display of photos of all the residence halls, including those that have been repurposed for other College uses.


Welcome Sustainable Table Dinner

5:00pm – 7:00pm | Alumni Tent adjacent to Cerridwen Farm
Share delightful conversation, cherished memories and a delicious meal with fellow alumni at this kick-off to the weekend. Our expert chef will prepare a delectable dinner, including ingredients harvested from the College farm, to be enjoyed in a covered outdoor environment. Local musician Aaron Audet will fill your soul with a repertoire of pop cover tunes from several eras. Cash bar.

Art and Music Gala

6:00pm – 9:00pm | William Feick Arts Center and Surdam Hall
Enjoy an art and music gala presented by faculty and students. Visit the Feick and Surdam galleries for an exhibition of GMC alumni artwork from the collection of art faculty member Kevin Bubriski. Starting at 7:30pm, director of music Jim Cassarino will lead a student instrumental music performance and a special performance by members of the GMC Choir. Enjoy refreshments as you gallery hop.

Saturday, September 26

CAT Center Tour

10:00am – 10:45am | Withey Student Center
Tour the new integrated Center for Careers, Advising, and Teaching (CAT). Learn about our initiatives for student success in the classroom, in the community, and in the world beyond graduation. Talk with representatives from the Office of Career and Personal Development, the Center for Advising and Achievement, and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. You’ll wish you were back in college.


Renewable Energy Tour

11:00am – 12:00pm | Departing Withey Student Center
Learn how GMC became the first college in the U.S. to reach carbon neutrality by means of increasing campus efficiencies and renewable energy. Your guide, sustainability director Aaron Witham, will inspire you on this engaging tour.

Lakes Region Farmer’s Market

10:00am – 2:00pm | Ames Circle / Moses Lawn
Check out the local farmers’ market for fresh produce and more!

Annual Poultney Rotary Chili Cook-off

10:30am – 1:30pm | Downtown Poultney
Enjoy the vibrancy of downtown Poultney and keep the autumn chill at bay as you take in this spicy event. Buy a tasting mug and submit your vote for the best chili recipe concocted by faculty, staff, students and community members. Support this local service organization while taking a walk down memory lane.

NAC Division III Men’s and Women’s Soccer games

12:00pm (men’s) and 2:30pm (women’s) | Soccer Fields (behind Withey Student Center)
Cheer the Green Mountain College soccer teams on to victory as they each take on New England College. Fill the bleachers and join the campus community spectators for scissor-kicks, headers, and goals. Go Eagles!

Historic Tour of Poultney

1:15pm – 2:00pm | The Meeting House
Rediscover the historic connection between the College, founded in 1834, and the town of Poultney. Start at The Meeting House with an audio-visual tour narrated by Vermont’s master storyteller Willem Lange and produced by the Poultney Historical Society. Then take to the streets and see the historic architecture on your own.


Ice Cream Social

1:30pm – 2:30pm | Alumni Tent adjacent to Cerridwen Farm
Meet up with your classmates over ice cream and have your pictures taken. Sweet!

Golden Circle Society Tour with President

2:00 pm – 3:00pm | The Meeting House, formerly Bentley House
President Fonteyn will welcome Golden Circle Society alumni from the classes of 1964 and earlier. Be sure to wear your medallions! The President will provide an overview of today’s College and give a tour of highlights around campus.

Food Preservation at the Farm

2:00pm – 3:00pm | Solar Harvest Center at Cerridwen Farm
It’s harvest time at the farm. Faculty member Eleanor Tison and her students in the sustainable agriculture and food production program will teach you how to preserve food for the long winter. Wear your apron for this interactive harvesting experience. Space is limited.

Cerridwen Farm Tour

3:00pm – 4:00pm | Cerridwen Farm
Dig into how the farm and food project at Cerridwen Farm adds to the health and well- being of the College community. Farm manager Bay Hammond will be your guide as you learn about the farm’s sustainable business model. Be sure to have your camera ready for the farm animals.

Bean and Cider Pairing

4:00pm – 5:00pm | Alumni Tent adjacent to Cerridwen Farm
This may sound like an unlikely pair, but alumnus Joe Bossen ’08, owner of Vermont Bean Crafters, will convince you to try this at home. Joe will guide you through your experience of enjoying selected ciders alongside local, organic treats made with beans. Space is limited.

Class of 1965 50th Reunion Celebration

4:00pm – 5:30pm | President’s Residence
We’ll roll out the red carpet for members of the Class of 1965, who gather at the President’s Residence. President Fonteyn hosts this private ceremony, welcoming the class to The Golden Circle Society, which recognizes all alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago. After induction, members of the class can be recognized wearing their society medallions.

Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

5:30pm – 7:00pm | The Gorge, Withey Student Center
Join current GMC sports teams and coaches as they welcome alumni into the Green Mountain College Athletic Hall of Fame. This special ceremony features remarks from President Paul Fonteyn and Athletic Director Keith Bosley to honor the inductees.

Alumni Banquet & Awards Ceremony

7:00pm – 9:00pm | East Room, Withey Student Center
Gather with fellow alumni for an autumn harvest dinner and award ceremony, the highlight of your weekend. Feast on a great assortment of locally grown foods while acknowledging the accomplishments of your peers. Awards will recognize distinguished alumni and young alumni. The Class of 1965 will be honored for their milestone and recognized for their 50th Reunion class gift to the College. Cash bar.

Student Collaborative Music Project

8:30pm – 10:30pm | The Gorge, Withey Student Center
Round out the evening with these student musical performances that highlight the uniqueness of being part of the GMC community. Student musicians, paired at random with others to form bands, have practiced together for one week to perform. Sit back and appreciate the results of their musical collaborations.

Sunday, September 27

Presidential Send Off Continental Breakfast

9:00am – 11:00am | Dining Room, Withey Student Center
Rise and shine to join President Fonteyn and your classmates for a light breakfast before you begin your travels back home. Take the opportunity to exchange contact information to foster the rekindled and new relationships you made over the weekend.


Cerridwen Farm Stand

10:30am – 12:00pm | Withey Student Center
Don’t leave empty handed. Be sure to stop by the farm stand where students from our farm crew will have fresh, organic crops produced on GMC’s Cerridwen Farm for sale. Take home some wholesome food while supporting our farm and food project.
